Corel announced that WordPerfect Office X5 is compatible with Windows 7. Older versions are not fully compatible. Word Perfect 8 can function on Windows 7 with some tweaking and a few workarounds.
WordPerfect 8 will install on on Windows 7 x64. Compatibility mode ok. You will have to run WordPerfect as "administrator" in order for some features (like saving settings) to work.

Can't "Save As..." or create new documents, but can save overwrite existing.
- Tools, Settings, Files, "Use enhanced file dialogs". Turn it off.
- change permissions in security settings for the program
- Right-click and open/run WordPerfect as Administratior
